Epoxy installation requires scuffing and acid washing of the enamel surface. This helps epoxy adhere and removes years of oil and dirt buildup, but exposing metal surfaces causes the possibility of rusting under the epoxy. Flacking and pealing you will see, but rusting is unseen under the epoxy that can cause major damage down the road.
If you do choose to re-glaze your tub, expect to see deep gouges from the scuffing and streaks from brushing. And of course, do not glaze synthetic tubs and PLEASE check for toxins leaching into your bathwater from any epoxy product.
